Wednesday’s shooting at Dallas ICE facility part of pattern of attacks against federal agents

A sniper opened fire Wednesday morning on a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, killing one person and himself and injuring others in the latest violent attack targeting federal immigration officers.

The shooting took place at the ICE Dallas Field Office and Enforcement and Removal Operations headquarters on the 8100 block of North Stemmons Freeway.

According to the Dallas Police Department, the gunman fired from an adjacent building, striking multiple people. Two victims were transported to the hospital, one died at the scene, and the suspect was later found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The attack comes amid a sharp escalation in violence directed at ICE personnel nationwide. Assaults against ICE officers are up more than 1,000% compared to the same period last year, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Officials say these assaults include vehicles being used as weapons and doxxing campaigns targeting federal officers and their families.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the shooting, saying, “While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”

The facility had already been targeted just a month earlier in a bomb threat incident. On Aug. 21, 36-year-old Bratton Dean Wilkinson arrived at the field office claiming to have explosives in his backpack. He displayed what he described as a detonator on his wrist, prompting a lockdown and the deployment of a bomb squad. Wilkinson was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats.

Wednesday’s incident marks the third violent attack on federal immigration enforcement officers in Texas this year, making the state the epicenter of such assaults.

In a separate incident on Wednesday, a gunman opened fire outside of an Air Force base in Nevada that is known as Area 51. The suspect ‘fired rounds’ at the main gate of Nellis Air Force Base around 12.30 am, and was challenged by Air Force security officers, who shot the man in the leg after he pointed his firearm at them. He was taken to a local hospital.

On July 4, gunmen launched an ambush at a detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, firing dozens of rounds at the building. A. police officer was struck in the neck during the shootout. Several suspects were apprehended after attempting to flee, and a manhunt led to the capture of a remaining suspect.

The Trump Administration has tied the surge in violence to growing defiance from sanctuary jurisdictions, which refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. ICE and other agencies are currently prioritizing operations against the most dangerous offenders, including MS-13, Tren de Aragua, Mexican cartels, and violent criminals such as murderers, rapists, and child sex offenders.

On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that 2 million illegal aliens have been removed or have self-deported since January 20.

“The Trump administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. Two million illegal aliens have left the United States in less than 250 days, including an estimated 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and more than 400,000 deportations,” DHS announced on Tuesday.

With attacks intensifying, federal officials say the threats against immigration enforcement officers are no longer isolated incidents but part of a broader pattern of escalating hostility.

  1. Just yesterday, the left wing media and D politicians were inciting hatred against ICE. They are doubling down even after Kirk’s assassination. What makes it worse is that their rhetoric is filled with falsehoods.

  2. The de facto leader of the Democrat Party and presumed Democrat presidential front runner, Gavin Newsome, just signed a bill that would require that ICE officers to show their faces in the line of duty. It’s hard to understand what purpose this would serve other than to presumably allow antifa terrorists to identify ICE officers in their off time.

    1. This is just like when Islamic terrorists with a name like Muhammed Jihadi Killiya drove a truck through a crowd of people or shot up a bunch of innocent people and the talking heads would say stupid things like ‘we don’t know the motive for what drove Mõhãmmed Bïn Slaųghtęri Infįdélîî to kill all these people”.

Instead of going Alex Jones, maybe acknowledge that the leaders on the left have been pushing violence year after year. Now that their disaffected youth are doing their bidding, let’s not try and pretend this is a government conspiracy…it’s a leftist movement wherein permanently silencing those you disagree with through violence, death, or fear is the goal.
