Turning Point USA to host ‘All American Halftime Show’ as conservative alternative to Super Bowl Bad Bunny performance

Turning Point USA, the conservative nonprofit founded by the recently assassinated activist Charlie Kirk, announced this week that it will produce an alternative halftime show during Super Bowl LX. The event, called The All American Halftime Show, is billed as a family-friendly, patriotic alternative to the official NFL performance headlined by Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny.

The announcement came Thursday through TPUSA’s social media channels and a dedicated website, americanhalftimeshow.com. The organization described the event as a celebration of “faith, family, and freedom,” emphasizing English-language music and what it called “traditional American values.”

The decision is part of the backlash among conservative fans who are offended by the NFL’s choice of Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), who is highly politicized and has been openly critical of Trump policies, supportive of LGBTQ+ politics, and who often performs exclusively in Spanish.

Many see the NFL’s selection as out of touch. Former NFL player and sports podcaster T.J. Moe wrote on X that the league “hates Christianity,” urging fans to tune out of the halftime show. His post drew more than 10,000 likes. Meanwhile, California Gov. Gavin Newsom defended the performer, saying the state welcomes Bad Bunny “with pride.”

The TPUSA project originated from a viral social media post suggesting that the band Creed should play an “America First” halftime event. After that post gained traction, TPUSA, now run by Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika, confirmed plans for the alternative production, writing, “It’s true — Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show.”

The event is set to air on Feb. 8, 2026, coinciding with the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. TPUSA has hinted that the show will be streamed or broadcast separately from the main game. No platform has yet been announced, and performers have not been named, though speculation has included bands such as Creed and country artists known for their conservative leanings.

The show’s official website includes a public survey asking fans which genres they’d like to hear, offering choices such as Americana, Classic Rock, Country, Hip Hop, Pop, and Worship.

The All American Halftime Show continues a growing trend of counter-programming to mainstream cultural events.

  1. Finally(!) … A reasonable alternative to the terribly planned half-time show. I will definitely be tuning it this rather than the freaks and weirdos, I’m guessing most folks will be too as a majority of reasonable people are sick and tired of the freakshow surrounding modern day society. The ad revenue associated with the TPUSA alternative should be very respectable.
